Another week of camp has begun at Birchrock, this week's theme is Party in the USA which will mean a lot of "red, white and blue" activities! Later this week we have plans to have some old fashioned fun with three legged races, watermelon eating contests, and more!

It is Thursday already and another week is flying by! This week the theme was space and the campers have begun making a paper-mache solar system! So far the planets are formed but not painted, hopefully we will paint them today or tomorrow and have a chance to hang the finished solar system in the lodge before everyone leaves on Friday!

Week 2 is off to a great start with cold but not rainy weather! Though it is a bit too chilly to swim today the campers will be fishing! And we will be keeping our fingers crossed for some nice 75 degree weather for tomorrow which will mean lots of swimming! We got the day started with an introduction to many of the camp songs and a very high energy game of capture the flag!

We JUST got our internet working out at camp so this is the first of (hopefully) many blog postings to come so check back whenever you can! Week one is well underway, it's hard to believe it is Thursday already!!! We had one day of really heavy and cold rain that forced us to do a lot more indoor activities than we would have liked but we still had a lot of fun!!! So far this week we have played a rousing game of capture the flag, many variations of tag, we have made smores using GIANT marshmellows, we have built lean-tos and so much more!!!

 

This week I concentrated a lot on finishing up the website as well as getting the word out about its launch.
