Wow! Spring has finally sprung! I was beginning to think that winter was going to be a permanent staple for the year!
We have some new and exciting things to talk about with Camp Fire USA and Camp Birchrock.
First: On April 25th and 26th we will be offering a Babysitting Course for youth ages 11 and up. The cost of the course will be $35 and will include all of the skills needed to be a competent babysitter! Some of the skills youth will learn will be: Basic First Aid/CPR, What To Do In An Emergency, Safety Precautions, Accident Prevention, and Care For Babies Through Early Childhood! For more information and to sign your child up, please contact Jeremy at the Camp Fire USA office at 715-362-3513 or director@campbirchrock.org!
Second: We still have many openings for both our Day Camp and Residential Camp. Don't forget about our REFER-A-FRIEND program! If you refer a friend to our camp that has not already signed up and has not attended our camp in the past then you will be able to receive a $25 discount off of your tuition for Resident Camp! This is cumulative, so you can refer as many friends as you want for even bigger discounts!
Third: Guess who is coming to Rhinelander? The HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS! Yes, we have secured the Harlem Globetrotter Ambassadors to come play a full basketball game against a 20 person team that we put together! The event will take place on September 28th at the Rhinelander High School Gymnasium at 7pm. Tickets will start going on sale May 1st and will cost $8 for adults, and $5 for children 5 and up (under 5 is free). All proceeds will go to Camp Fire USA and Camp Birchrock! If you would like more info, or would like to be considered to be part of the team, please contact me A.S.A.P.!
Fourth: I have hired both of my female counselors (males are still in the process) for Camp this year. One is a Child Psychology major attending UW-Oshkosh that has had 3 years of residential camp experience! She is very outgoing, energetic, and full of new great ideas to share with our camp! The other is an Arts major also attending UW-Oshkosh; she will be sharing with us many years of childcare experience including working with both troubled and developmentally disabled children. She is as bubbly as she is intelligent and will be a GREAT addition to our staff! I look forward to introducing them to our campers this summer!
Last: We are accepting Campership donations right now. If you would like to donate funds to help offset the cost of summer camp for families that do not have the ability to send their kids to camp this year please contact me, or use the "DONATE NOW" button on our website! Whether it is $5 or $500, every donation will be accepted with gratitude. Please, help us help those children who would not normally be able to attend a fun and exciting summer camp program that only we can offer!
In closing, I would like to thank everyone who has signed their children up for camp! I promise you that they will have an amazing time experiencing all Camp Birchrock has to offer!
Sincerely,
Jeremy Fadoul
Executive Director
