Hello Campers and Camper Parents,
The 2010 Camp Season is fast approaching and I hope the campers are getting as excited about camp as our staff is!!!
I will begin the staff introductions by introducing myself, Alexandra Pelley, the Day Camp Director for the 2010 Season.
I was born and raised in Canada where I began working at a residential camp as an instructor/counselor when I was 17. I worked there for 4 years making my way to a head instructor position after 2 summers. As much as I loved my time spent at that residential camp in Canada when I received the opportunity to take on an Area Director Position with a Camp here in Wisconsin I jumped at it! I worked there for 2 years and then took 2 years off to be a full-time stay at home mom. Now I am returning to the camp world as the Day Camp Director/Assistant Camp Director for Camp Birchrock. I have pretty much grown-up in the camp environment and absolutely love working with children! There is nothing else quite like camp life and helping make every campers summer one they will never forget!
I have big plans for this summer and I encourage parents and campers to give me as much feedback as possible in order to make this summer the best it can be for everyone! I also hope we will get good use out of these forums, I encourage you to use them to talk to your couselors, to talk to each other, to ask questions, or even to post your favorite camp song or activity!!! If it has to do with camp, feel free to discuss it here!
Check back for updates throughout the summer as well as introductions from the summer 2010 camp staff and random posts from them throughout the summer! Also, please check out the camp blog during the course of the summer as we will have updates on the weekly activities happening at camp!

My name is Celia Olson and I will be one of the Counselors at Day camp. I recently graduated from University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in Biology. I am very excited to be joining the staff at Camp Birchrock! My summers at camp were always fun growing up and I'm excited to help make this a wonderful summer for everyone.

Welcome Alexandra. Last year was my kids' first summer at Birchrock. I am so excited that Jeremy pulled together a full-summer day camp program this year. We are all very excited to start camp. My kids won't start until July, but I look forward to meeting you then.

Hi,
My name is Andrea Winsor and I will be the Waterfront Director at camp. I recently graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Elementary Education. Although I love working with children within schools, my heart is truly at camp as I am dedicated to the wonderful experience it offers so many kids. The past four summers I was an activity director at a residential camp and I am very excited to be joining the staff at Camp Birchrock. As a certified lifeguard, I am dedicated to ensuring that all campers stay safe and have fun on the water this summer.
