Week 1

We JUST got our internet working out at camp so this is the first of (hopefully) many blog postings to come so check back whenever you can! Week one is well underway, it's hard to believe it is Thursday already!!! We had one day of really heavy and cold rain that forced us to do a lot more indoor activities than we would have liked but we still had a lot of fun!!! So far this week we have played a rousing game of capture the flag, many variations of tag, we have made smores using GIANT marshmellows, we have built lean-tos and so much more!!!

As for today, we have some fun planned down by the water, either swimming or boating depending what group your camper is in! We are also going to be painting the tables we eat lunch on!  We will be making some fun art ptojects using crayons, and also playing a game of dead ant tag which you can ask your campers to describe to you in more detail! We are really hoping the weather holds out and it stays sunny until after pick-up as we have so many fun outdoor activities planned for today!

A heads up to parents, do not be surprised if your campers come home tonight with paint on their faces, clothing or anywhere else.  It seems some people mistook campers for tables while painting the lunch tables today!!! But it was a lot of fun, photos will be posted soon onto facebook so keep an eye out for that!!! We had some awesome snacks today (and every other day too) thanks to our wonderful cook Canopy!!! Yum! Also a big thank you to parents for doing such an awesome job packing lunches!!! And just a side-note on that topic, if anyone notices their camper is coming home with most of their lunch still in their lunchbox please let me know at drop-off the next morning, I want to make sure everyone has enough energy to play all day long!!!

Also, if your camper is coming back next week you can drop off payments (by cash or check) at drop-off tomorrow (friday) for the following week so you don't have to make an extra trip in to the downtown camp office on Stevens St! I have had several parents tell me their campers are having a great time, which I love to hear!!! I encourage parents - and campers - to give me any feedback (positive or negative) as we are still working kinks out of our program with it being the very first summer with the day camp program!

That's all for now!
