Week 2 is off to a great start with cold but not rainy weather! Though it is a bit too chilly to swim today the campers will be fishing! And we will be keeping our fingers crossed for some nice 75 degree weather for tomorrow which will mean lots of swimming! We got the day started with an introduction to many of the camp songs and a very high energy game of capture the flag!
SPACE is the theme for this second week of camp and so far we have already had some visits from ALIENS from Pluto, Zargon and Mushoo! Luckily for us these aliens were not camera shy so we got some good photos!! Look for them on the Birchrock facebook page in the next couple days.
We are very excited for the upcoming events we have planned for this week including a visit from Frank Kovac from Kovac planetarium on Thursday! We also have several space themed arts and crafts actvities and games planned for the rest of the week.
Also planned for later this week: rockets! I would like to ask parents to send an empty plastic bottle (like a plastic sprite bottle etc) with their campers this week so they can make a rocket! Also if campers could bring empty cereal containers, toilet paper rolls, empty margarine containers - basically anything you're not using that we can turn into a piece of a spaceship - for their arts and crafts activities this week it would be greatly appreciated!
